Gaddafi threatens to attack passenger jets and ships in the Med as UN finally backs air strikes to protect Libyan rebels
Britain, the United States and France are today on the threshold of bombing Libya after the United Nations backed military action.
The RAF could be deployed within hours to protect rebel-held Benghazi. Typhoon jets are likely to fly from French or Italian military bases in the Mediterranean.
