Arab Slave Trade in Africa



It is wonderful what you can buy in a thrift shop! This book is called  "Between Cross and Crescent, AD 430 to 907."

This is a Medieval illustration of the Arab slave trade in West Africa, showing the abysmal state of native black people, while the mozlems work out how much they are worth.
