Imagine you are are a marxist/maoist who wants to get revenge on the West for being successful and wealthy.
Even though you are more wealthy than most people can only dream of and probably wealthier than Mao ever was.
You have a chip on your shoulder that has turned into a cancer that is gnawing away through you.
You plot and plan, and plan and plot. You come up with an idea: moving the means of production as well as the source of products, to some countries whose political elites you support.
Encouraging, under the false premise that these products are "green", ie made with no pollution to the earth, no exploitation of manpower and something which people can not do without!
Light.
Scientists go to work and lawyers go to work. Together they produce a light bulb that is supposedly "green" and will save the planet from destruction by non-"green" lightbulbs. The ingredients for these light bulbs can only be found in Mongolia and Greenland. Laws are made banning all other "bad" ingredients and lightbulbs. Mongolia and Greenland, out of the sight and mind of Greenpeace, journalists, Al Gore and Michael Boore.
There they can trash the landscape, pour poison into the aquifers and pay their workers a pittance.
But its all OK because it will "save the planet".
